The NFL Draft has concluded. Here are my Top 10 teams post draft.
10. Los Angeles Chargers
Did we expect anything else from the Chargers and Jim Harbaugh? The Chargers selected Notre Dame offensive tackle Joe Alt with the 5th Overall Pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Los Angeles then traded up and selected Ladd McConkey 34th Overall in the 2nd Round. An excellent draft from the Chargers, and that comfortably puts them in the Top 10.
9. Philadelphia Eagles
After reloading in Free Agency, the Eagles wasted no time in addressing their secondary by selecting Quinyon Mitchell 22nd Overall and Cooper DeJean 40th Overall. Howie Roseman has a knack of finding talent in the draft. Late Round choices Will Shipley and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. may age very well.
8. Los Angeles Rams
The Rams are among the teams I thought absolutely crushed the draft. Selecting a pair of Florida State studs in Jared Verse (19th Overall) and Braden Friske (39th Overall). We may look back at the 2024 Draft and ask ourselves how Kamren Kinchens fell to Pick 99. I love the diversity of positions and depth pieces the Rams addressed here. Coming off a 10-7 season, watch out for the Rams to dethrone the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC West.
7. Green Bay Packers
Keep buying the Green Bay Packers stock. Green Bay have been one of the best organizations in the NFL for over 3 decades now. One thing the Packers have always done well is draft and develop their offensive line. Green Bay selected Jordan Morgan 25th Overall to replace David Bakhtiari. It makes sense, almost everything they do at that position makes sense. Are the Packers ready to dethrone the Lions? Hell of a draft, but likely a small ways away still.
6. Houston Texans
As expected, the Texans didn’t make any major moves or trade ups in the 2024 NFL Draft. Kamari Lassiter (42nd Overall) is a solid addition to pair with Derek Stingley Jr. Houston doesn’t move anywhere on the list, a solid draft with depth acquisitions. Houston will remain just outside the Top 5, for now.
5. Cincinnati Bengals
It seems I’m much higher on the Cincinnati Bengals than most of the nations analysts. Selecting Amarius Mims (18th Overall) and Kris Jenkins (49th Overall) are massive additions to their front seven on both sides of the ball. A healthy Joe Burrow is the key to the Bengals knocking the Chiefs off their perch.
4. Baltimore Ravens
OT Roger Rosengarten (62nd Overall) was my favorite pick that Baltimore made. The Ravens typically handle the draft very well, and find players many wouldn’t have spotted. Baltimore are a Top 5 team, with Lamar Jackson coming off another MVP season. It’s time to deliver in the playoffs.
3. San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers took Ricky Pearsall (31st Overall), a slot receiver from Florida to kick things off. San Francisco followed it up with two sneaky good picks with high value, CB Renardo Green (64th Overall) and OT Dominick Puni (86th Overall). Kyle Shanahan is my favorite coach in the NFL, but they dropped a spot because the team in front of them absolutely crushed the draft.
2. Detroit Lions
How Terrion Arnold fell to 24th Overall is beyond me. The Lions stole someone I believe will be one of the two best defensive players of this class. Brad Holmes didn’t forget the Lions final six games of the season in the secondary…
Holmes wasted little time jumping at the opportunity to bolster the secondary even more by selecting Ennis Rakestraw Jr., (61st Overall). The Lions addressed their biggest issue in the draft, for me, the best team in the NFC heading into camp.
1. Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs made their move and traded up to select WR Xavier Worthy (28th Overall) out of Texas. Jaden Hicks was a high value addition in the later rounds for Kansas City. With Travis Kelce extending his contract, the Chiefs will look to add one more Super Bowl for the iconic Mahomes-Kelce duo before he retires. Until dethroned, the reigning Super Bowl Champions remain the best team in football.
